Description
Volcanic rock. Really hurts the fingers. Year round climbing, can be really hot in the summer.
Getting There
From Reno. Head south on Hwy 395 towards Carson City. Get off the freeway at North Carson Street. Take a left onto E college parkway. Left on Goni Road. Follow Goni until you it dead ends at a gate. At this point, turn right onto a poorly paved road. Follow the Road as it turns to dirt. You will arrive at a very large switchback which sweeps right. Park on the shoulder on the left side of the road so the Semi's don't hit you. Walk on the jeep road which is on the north side of the main road. Stay right at the first fork. After about 100 yards after the fork, there is a walking trail which heads west. Follow it to the boulder's. You should walk up to the Tsunami boulder which is big and overhanging.
See the Map to the left for each boulder's location.
