A gear loop broke and sent a few cams and a quickdraw flying down the North Face of the Rostrum from pitch seven.
I assume they are somewhere around the base but may have somehow gotten stuck or landed on a ledge mid route.
We dropped:
Grey Alien on a BD OZ biner and black tape .75 camalot on a green BD neutrino biner with blue and orange tape. DMM Phantom Quickdraw (20cm BD dogbone) - Maybe has black tape.
This is the reason my next harness is gonna be a Metolius with burly gear loops. Luckily it has never happened to me, but to at least 2 other friends of mine with climbing with them... Good luck. A friend dropped his #5 on the OW pitch, but never found it despite scouring the base.
The gear loops consists of a piece of webbing over a plastic tube. Unfortunately it seems the tube is only placed inside the webbing and not secured to the waist belt. IE non-structural
The webbing wore out (abrasion) and all of a sudden the gear fell off despite the internal plastic tube that was still intact.
Ah, that sucks Luke! I hope you get them back. I dropped my blue/green hybrid alien from epinephrine during gear swapping. so sad :(. still no one return it.
