This route… when I first walked up to the crag with its near 10m walls towering over me this line shown like a gem in a pile of sh*t.. sharp, broken holds, ledge decking potential, and bad clipping stances.. it has everything a LEGENDARY route needs. On my first GROUND UP ascent I managed by the skin of my teeth to not deck while “turkish freeing” the rig. Upon further inspection I decided to come back rap in, clean all the sharp branches off the decking ledge, hang draws, clean up the rig, chalk and prepare for a head point. Day 3 on the route I managed to convince my gf to get out but on first look we walked away. This was serious for both the belayer and climber. We climbed elsewhere and on walking back decided to take another look. It was time. I roped up and prepared for 4 bolts of the most intense climbing of my life. I managed to make it past bolt two, heel hooking and slapping my way up the arete then climbed past bolt 3 deadpointing to a desperate sharp pocket knowing I had done the impossible. After a successful ascent following the multiple holds breaking I’m proposing 7a, very much still a sandbagged death route. Enjoy
