Began top roping in 2011 and sport leading outdoors in 2012. Took sport lead classes at Upland Hangar 18 in 2012 (12 hours of instruction: clipping, catching lead falls, and self-rescue) and completed SCMA Rock Climbing Safety Skills Course in 2014 (8 days of instruction: knots, belaying, rappelling, self-rescue, climbing technique, top-rope anchors, and multi-pitch climbing). Safety is my top priority; helmet is a must outdoors and a hand should always be on the brake end of the rope.
