Thank you for organizing this area. It is a nice area and needs the love.

The way I think of the area the following hierarchy based on parking
I. "Donner Memorial State Park" proper
A. Split Rock Area
1. Split Rock East
2. Split Rock West
3. Tic Tock Boulder
4. Shadow Boulder
5. Unnamed/Unknown Boulder 1
6. Unnamed/Unknown Boulder 2
B. Donner Lake South / Firepits (very separate - the best parking is .5 away)
1. Donner Lake #1
C. China Cove (another separate area- the best parking is another .5 down the road)
1. Pac man boulder

II. Coldstream Canyon (accessed via a dirt road, not subject to fees)
A. Coldstream Canyon River Bed
1. Coldstream Canyon River Boulder I
2. Coldstream Canyon River Boulder II
A. Wei Hua Boulders
1. Wei Hua Boulder Proper
2. Lower Wei Hua Boulder
3. Lowest Wei Hua Boulder
C. Saddles

If someone gets a moment and sets it up that way I would appreciate it. I plan to add many more areas and problems shortly. I actively develop new boulders there. For both "Donner Lake #1" and "China Cove" there will be dozens of problems in each those sectors.

Getting There Suggestion

Exit Donner Pass Road on I-80. At the 4-way stop, drive between the two gas stations. Drive 1/2 mile. Turn left into Donner Memorial State Park and park in the free public lot.

(The GPS for the state park page points to the standard dirtbag free parking described in climbing guides, but if you happen to be flush and want to support the state park with your use fees, drive straight in the front gate, and check the state park's website, <http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=503>, for current fees, hours and other info. During winter, car access to the campground will be closed anyway.)

Walk into Donner Memorial State Park. Cross the bridge and bear left at the first two forks, keeping the stream on your left and the campground on your right.

After a 5-minute walk you'll arrive at the intersection of four paved paths and see Split Rock.
