Description
Starting from the ledge on Chockstone Chimey, this route follows a beautiful arete, with protection from bolts on the left face. The crux is moving past the first bolt, as this part of the arete has minimal footholds. There is another tricky section at the top, moving past the final bolt, also due to a scarcity of footholds.
Location
About 40 m right (east) of utility pole 145, take the trail heading up into the woods. Follow the large boulder field to its right edge. Continue rightward through a small forest to reach a second (smaller) boulder field. Hike to the top of this boulder field to reach the route.
This route starts at the ledge above the first tier of Chockstone Chimey. Climb the first part of Chockstone Chimey to gain the ledge. It is recommended to belay Arete Dances from the ledge, rather than from the base of the cliff.
