Description
This is an excellent circle tour of Mt. Meeker. From the Long's Peak Ranger Station, follow the trail to the Chasm Lake junction. Descend toward Chasm Meadows. Just past the turnoff for Chasm Lake and The Diamond, leave the trail on the left, and follow climber's trails toward the imposing Iron Gates notch on Meeker's NE ridge. Go through Iron Gates, and follow the ridge SW to the 13,860 foot summit of Meeker Ridge. From here, descend slightly, then follow the narrow exposed ridge (Class 3) to the 13,911 foot main summit.
Descend to the Loft and Chasm Meadows (some Class 3), and rejoin the ascent route near the Chasm Lake turnoff.
The round trip is about 11.5 miles with 4550 feet of elevation gain.
