Description Suggest change

Phoenix in the Sun is dedicated to Esha (Phoenix) and their beloved seeing eye dog, Dragon.

"May we love fiercely, be kind, and rise from the ashes, hand in hand in community with each other" - Esha.

Start from the rock wall supported belay pad just above the aspens. Follow the bolt line up as it trends slightly right, and then halfway up (bolt 6), it gradually transitions to the left. This arc allows the route to avoid some large, detached flakes. Beware of them when lowering.

The climbing is a relatively consistent 5.7 grade. The route allows for slightly easier or more difficult choices whether one climbs just right or left of the bolts. The abundance of positive edges allows for a smooth climb.

Location Suggest change

Phoenix in the Sun is ~10 feet right of where the east side trail reaches the cliff. Look for the rock wall belay pad.

Protection Suggest change

10 bolts and a 2 bolt anchor with Mussy hooks.
