ALL SEASONAL CLIMBING CLOSURES FOR CLIMBING AND SLACKLINING WILL BE LIFTED ON FRIDAY, JULY 7TH THIS WEEK.
THANKS, EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP IN OBSERVING RESTRICTIONS DURING THE NESTING SEASON!
There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Description
Easy liebacking on the flake past two non-permadrawed bolts leads to the main crux of the route, passing the first perma on a couple bad holds (hang on tight, it's over very quickly). Pull out the side of the roof on good holds and follow your line of permadraws as it arcs up and left across a somewhat crumbly slab (will probably get a lot better over time). Multiple challenges but nothing nearly as hard as the low crux... But be prepared to fight the urge to grab the anchor while clipping, real potential heartbreaker there. You were warned :)
