Description Suggest change

Fun climbing in a great position. A grassy start to p1 gives way to several pitches of awesome, continuous, under-vert face climbing on the sharp black arete of the Minus Palavar feature before crossing left above the lip of the roof.

Every pitch but the final p6 (skippable) clocks in between 5c (5.9+) and 6a (10-) with p2 feeling the most tenuous despite the Briancon guidebook's grading (they gave p3 the 6a nod but I'd swap the two).

Rap down the roof route with two 50s or walk off to the trail above and descend left.

Location Suggest change

From the Palavar parking lot, observe the big steep yellow roof above you, and the arete that intersects its right hand side. The route starts a few feet right of the arete at its lowest point (you should see a bolt about 8' up p1).

Protection Suggest change

A dozen draws (3-4 of them alpine) + the usual multi-pitch gear.
