Most of the 14-acre property at Hanging Mountain has been designated as Priority Habitat by MassWildlife’s Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program (NHESP). As a result, Hanging Mountain and any work performed there is heavily regulated to ensure that the WMCC is in compliance with the Massachusetts Endangered Species Act and Wetlands Protection Act.

Description
Stagger Lee climbs the big wide crack tucked away in the corner. Although it probably doesn’t get that much traffic, the rock is pretty clean and not covered in lichen. I didn’t find an obvious crux, although halfway up you get sucked into the “wide”, so I suppose that’s where it might start to get difficult.
We chose to lead the first pitch of Disco Pants and walk left to the optional belay for Butterfly Effect. This way your belayer can watch and laugh at you as you grovel.
