Description
This is a new multi-pitch project that climbs out the largest overhang in the lower canyon... the exposure of which will surely make your hotline bling. I bolted the majority of the crux pitch, but had a day's help from Dane Steadman. Snyder bolted P1, P2, and P4.
P1 and P2: Climb Can You Hear Me Now? then the second pitch of Ill Communication.
P3 (crux): (Note: Once you start climbing out the overhang on this pitch, you must bail upwards. An attempt to lower off will leave you hanging in space. An ascension device is recommended for the leader and follower of this pitch. I bolted the overhang very liberally and have never had an issue, but you're better off safe than sorry)
Climb up and right off of the anchors at the top of the 2nd pitch of IC before traversing on easy climbing to a no-hands rest. Encounter a couple wild moves before experiencing a series of punishing tosses between cool holds. Rest when you can then tick tack your way past a Dr. Seuss flake that has been hammered and torqued and pulled and yanked and will not budge. A short and easy hand crack will take you to a nice ledge with beefy anchors. I would not be at all surprised if this pitch clocks in at 5.14-.
P4: Climb up and left on Snyders bolts into an amazing dihedral feature. A few bolts of that will link you into the last few bolts of Ill Communication.
