Description Suggest change

A longer via ferrata up Donnerkogel, especially known for its 40 m free hanging ladder. The start has some harder (C/D) sections, but the middle is easier (A/B). The free hanging ladder is rated B, but can be unstable during windy conditions. It is possible to avoid it and walk around.

Location Suggest change

From the parking lot at Gosaukammbahn either take the lift or hike up the hiking path 620 (1.5 h) to the summit station. Follow the path up towards Gablonzer hut. Directly next to the hut follow hiking path 611 until you hit a saddle with an infotmation sign about the via ferrata. Turn left and hike down a couple minutes to the start. The cable is already well visible from the saddle.

Descent:

From the end of the via ferrata follow a well walked path in a couple of minutes to the summit of Donnerkogel. From the summit follow red markings to hiking path 628, later 611 and back to Gablonzer hut. Either take the lift or hiking path 620 back down to the parking lot.
