Description Suggest change

Fun route with a gorgeous view. Quality of the climb improves as you go higher with the first pitch being a bit broken up and blocky. Four real pitches although the last pitch has another belay station about 20 feet lower to minimize rope drag, creating a 5.4ish final pitch that is mostly walking through grass to the top. Walk off down the hiking trail.

Route is bolted alpine style with decent protection at harder spots, but substantial runouts where the climbing is easier. Definitely some heads-up climbing. Belay stations often have 3 bolts but no rap rings.

Pitch 1:  5.7/5.8-

Pitch 2:  5.9

Pitch 3:  5.9+

Pitch 4: 5.9+/5.10a

Pitch 5: 5.3/5.4

From the hiking trail to Pierre Avoi, scramble down the sketchy gully to your left just before the hiking trail tackles the final ascent up the Rocky outcrop. Go down about 100 meters or so. Watch for loose rock! You will first come to "Petit Train" (marked with paint) and then L'Arete about 15 meters further, also labeled with paint.

At the top of the first pitch, bear right following the painted "A"

Protection Suggest change

Bolted, but some decent runout. Some no-fall zones.
