CLOSED: Forestry Closure Update - FULL WEST SIDE CLOSURE begins 12/11.
The west side of the park will be completely closed for forest health mitigation until further notice (~mid-2024, weather-dependent). The west trailhead parking lot will remain open for access to the south. Trails impacted by closure: Mountain Muhly Trail, Bearberry Trail, Homestead Trail, Silver Fox Trail, Ponderosa Trail, and the majority of Sisters Trail. 2023 ALD Forestry - a map of the Second Segment Closure (PDF) can be found through the link above.
The eastern side of the park and trailhead have reopened following completed forestry work in that area.
Description
This is a fun problem just uphill of Guiding Light. Start matched on the good, sloping rail, and move up and left through a compression move and a kneebar option. Find a way to wrestle out the rest of the topout - you might find yourself straddling the bulge on the way.
Avoid the rock on the right, except for the starting footholds below the seam.
There was some chalk on a couple of holds, so it (or a variation) might have been done before. I am adding it here, since it's worthwhile, and I haven't seen it on MP or a guidebook, but comment if you know a previous name or grade for the same problem.
Location
It is just a few feet uphill of the Guiding Light Boulder and is on the same block as "Face Right of Crack".
