ALL SEASONAL CLIMBING CLOSURES FOR CLIMBING AND SLACKLINING WILL BE LIFTED ON FRIDAY, JULY 7TH THIS WEEK.
THANKS, EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP IN OBSERVING RESTRICTIONS DURING THE NESTING SEASON!
There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Description
This excellent stembox makes for a great warmup: Tightly bolted and fairly easy climbing for most of its length with a harder section culminating in a brief crux at about two-thirds height. Very enjoyable - the only detractor is it can be a bit sandy but this would surely improve with more traffic.
Location
A little ways left of a collection of large boulders resting against the wall, this route starts just left of a small seat formed by a flat rock platform at the base of Playing in Traffic. Look for the obvious stembox. Another helpful landmark is that this route is the first route left of the mixed route Spellbound which sports only three bolts down low.
