ALL SEASONAL CLIMBING CLOSURES FOR CLIMBING AND SLACKLINING WILL BE LIFTED ON FRIDAY, JULY 7TH THIS WEEK.
THANKS, EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP IN OBSERVING RESTRICTIONS DURING THE NESTING SEASON!
There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Check this site for details: smithrock.com/seasonal-clos…
Description
A worthwhile route and a good warmup.
Begin by scrambling up and right across terraced ledges until about 20’ off the ground. Reach left to clip the first bolt and enter into a wide stem. Continue stemming and face climbing up to a ledge and shared anchor.
Location
A little ways right of the sharp arete of Mojomatic (currently identifiable by yellow hangers on a few bolts, though these may be better camouflaged in the near future) and just right of the seam of Hieroglyphics (bolts with red hangers, again, these may be better camouflaged in the future) are some stubby columns that can be third-classed onto from the left. The base here has a nice clearing/staging area.
