The Ten Degree Wall is located on a 17,000 acre private plot owned and maintained by a local forestry management company. They have been kind enough to grant public access to the land but it is important to remember that climbing at The Ten Degree Wall is a privilege and not a right. In return for granting access, they simply ask that visitors respect the private forests and the people working there. This land is actively being logged and roadways are being maintained. You can expect to see logging and road-maintenance crews in the area - please be respectful of them, never block the roads, and make a conscious effort to stay out of their way.
Access Issue: Peregrine Falcons in Maine
Details
Maine Peregrine Falcons breeding season extends from mid-March through July or August. Hiking or climbing near nesting peregrines can cause abandonment and death of eggs/young. If adults are away from the nest, eggs or young can become overheated, chilled, or chicks can miss feedings. Be on the lookout for agitated falcons that may vocalize, take avoidance flights, or dive-bomb those that are too close. If you encounter an aggressive peregrine falcon please immediately leave the area, and report incidents to Erynn Call, State Raptor Specialist, MDIFW, erynn.call@maine.gov.

Description
Was out with Ray Rice and he fixed a fuzzy red static line Randy Baker had stashed on an old project. I rope soloed up and found myself wandering into the traversing quartz dike to the right of the project. Mellow chunky quartz climbing from the base of the cliff leads to a steep crux pulling on quartz edges. I would recommend a 70m rope unless someone is following. The FA was done from the ground, but the belayer should stand at the birch tree by the first bolt and can pre clip it for the leader. Will return next season to clean it up more, but all key holds are clear. Good warmup for the area
