Description Suggest change

This route is one of the longest on the Prison Wall. It starts at the base of the wall, just right of Sing Sing and veers slightly right up to the fifth bolt. There is a bit of a runout between the fourth and fifth bolts but the climbing here is mellow. From the fifth bolt on, the route heads straight up to the anchors.

About the name. Johnny Cash wrote Folsom Prison Blues in 1953 while serving in the U S Air Force. In a concert in Folsom Prison in 1968, he led off with this song and that's when most of us first heard of Folsom Prison. It is a maximum security prison, 20 miles Northeast of Sacramento.
