Warning Access Issue: Raptor Closures DetailsDrop down

Description Suggest change

As the name suggest this is a bouldery and intense route that climbs the needle on a sort of spiral form

Pitch 1 6b+/5.11a: Swim up an easier dihedral with wide cracks to the crux on leftwards traverse on slopers and poor feet. Build first anchor on ledge after this traverse.

Pitch 2 6a+/5.10d: Meander up a crack system that takes you to the top. Gets harder on the last stretch. Bolted anchor at the top.

Descent: 70m rappel

Location Suggest change

The only route on the needle

Protection Suggest change

Rap ring at the top, no intermediate anchors
Mostly medium and large cams
Bring two #3 and #4 so you have spares to build first anchor
Twin rope recommended to reduce rope drag
