Description Suggest change

This route is listed as 5.11 in the Bay Area Rock guidebook. It kind of feels like an eliminate when there are better holds so close to the right.

I climbed it by avoiding using the finger pocket that’s used for the start of the Pocket Problem. Then went up from the angled side pull straight up to the “scoop” for a difficult and somewhat balancy crux. This sequence felt like a proper 5.11.

The top is a little mossy, but things get a lot easier up high so the sequence doesn’t really matter as much.

Location Suggest change

On the main face of Pinnacle Rock. To the left of The Pocket Problem.

Protection Suggest change

Bolts at the top.
