Description Suggest change

A consistently forming and classic line, Pure Energy climbs the main flow found within the Cline River Gallery. A variety of lines are possible and one can access the route from the top by carefully walking down the low angle ice from above until at the lip of the climb.

Location Suggest change

Park at the Pinto Lake Staging Area (52.16735545448509, -116.4784549473152) and head to the back of the large gravel pit. Walk up out of the pit on a small trail which merges with a much larger main trail that goes through a few campsites and continues West along the south side of the Cline River bank. Stay left at the first junction, and continue following the clearly marked trail for about 20 minutes until the ice is obvious in front of you.

From the viewpoint where you can see the ice, follow the trail for another hundred meters or so, cross a small gully with some ice in it on the right, walk along an exposed cliffside and then drop down a dry gully to access the ice from the bottom up, or keep walking a bit further to access from the top down.

Protection Suggest change

Standard ice rack.
