Description
This is a new route right of ...The Walrus with 14 bolts to double-bolt anchors at the lip. A 70-meter rope is mandatory.
Stickclip a high first bolt, then climb pumpy ground up the steep purple rock to a faint corner and continuous crimping. Cop a rest at the big horn, bust a crux into the base of the flake, then rest again. From here, 5 bolts of very sustained climbing take you up the headwall to the chains. The technical and redpoint crux is passing the last bolt.
Double kneepads are helpful. Extendo draws are useful in spots for clipping and drag. Some footholds are still sandy but should clean up with traffic.
Many thanks to OSMP and the Flatirons Climbing Council for making new routing possible in the Flatirons!
Credit for the awesome route name goes to Madaleine Sorkin. Tx, Mad!
