Description
Ten pitches of varied climbing on good rock and in an excellent position. The grades and pitchlengths are quoted from Rockfax. P1-2 and P8-9 can be linked easily with a 70m.
P1: the first pitch of El Osita Polar (13m 5b)
P2: up through a roof on interesting holds to an exciting rightward traverse and belay (12m 6b)
P3: a few moves in a corner to broken easy ground (25m 5b)
P4: slab climbing to a few thoughtful moves before reaching a hanging belay (6a 30m)
P5: steeper climbing through blocky terrain that eases (6a 25m)
P6: tenuous moves off the belay leads to a enjoyable sequences and a belay on the right side of a cave (6a 30m)
P7: climb out the steep corner to easier terrain above and a large sloping belay ledge (6b 25m)
P8: climb the face right next to the right facing corner to a thin sequence moving right to easier ground (5c 20m)
P9: face climbing to a steep exposed finish (5c 30m).
P10: easy runout climbing (4c 30m)
Scramble up and left to the summit ridge.
Descent: follow the summit ridge towards the escale arabe as it narrows and then descends. Eventually you can leave the ridge to the left. It's easy then to traverse over to the Arab steps. Apparently also possible to rappel the route.
