A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

FA: Jeffrey Thomas & Ben Chapman (March 2018)
California > Los Angeles Basin > Santa Monica Mo… > Saddle Peak > Corpse Wall

Description

Climb up under the overhang and grasp the undercling. Locate secure holds above the roof from which you can clip the first bolt. Pull the roof and continue climbing up features to a ledge. Climb up to a crack that angles up to the left and provides nice edges or pods. Clip the last bolt and pull edges to the anchor. Once you solve the mystery of how to haul yourself over the overhang you'll appreciate the route's name. A bit puzzling.

Location

Far right end of the Corpse Wall.

Protection

4 bolts & 2-ring anchor.

[Hide Comment] Ben Chapman, I climbed the route two weeks ago. Nice job! I see where the name comes from, and I won't spoil the fun by spraying beta here. Thanks for putting up another fine line. This and Proud Mary are great fun! Jun 11, 2018

[Hide Comment] Clipping the first bolt before pulling the overhang may be tricky, but doable, if you're a shorter climber. Aug 15, 2018

[Hide Comment] Fun route. Maybe my beta is different, because I still don't understand the route name, ha. Dec 5, 2020
