Description Suggest change

The Beauty is a classic route, and a great intro to climbing in the Rum. The approach is not that long, maybe an hour if you do it right, but quite involved. The climbing is all of high quality.

Pitch 1: Climb the beautiful corner. with laybacks and hand jams to a nice ledge with bolts.

Pitch 2: Interesting twin cracks lead to a one bolt belay + a #4 BD cam. It is possible to skip this belay and link with pitch 3.

Pitch 3: Continue to stem upwards to a great ledge with two bolts.

Pitch 4: Some scary face moves protected by drilled pins right of the ledge, to easier climbing over some soft rock to a two bolt belay ledge under the off-width

Pitch 5: Squirm up the wide crack to a large ledge with bolts.

Pitch 6 (Optional): Continue to up and to the left on easy terrain, ending at a one bolt belay. This pitch is only worth it if you plan on topping out the formation. If you do this pitch you'll need to rappel on one bolt to get down.

Rappel the route with two ropes. If you bring only one rope, you'll have to rap off one bolt anchors in a couple spots.
