[Hide Comment] In comparison with other Reed's Creek climbs, I would say on-sighting Superwoman, especially if you don't stray so far off the bolt line to be silly, is in the 5.9 range. In my opinion it a tiny bit harder than Purple Little Flowers (which is a fairly gentle 9), and is substantially tougher than Superman, which I would give a 5.6 grade. As proof, I have had at least two partners who, after easily leading Superman, were unable to cleanly follow Superwomen. Jul 18, 2018

[Hide Comment] That one move is 5.8 but it may take you 5 falls trying a 10a move to find it. Aug 23, 2019

[Hide Comment] There is a lot of chalk right of the bolt line. It gets quite ROUGH, compared to other 5.8s at Reed's creek.

If you stay left of the bolt line, with the arette within reach, it is very much a 5.8 climb. Unfortunately, people climb right of the bolt line and it moves into 10a face/crimp/traverse climbing with rough hands and feet. It shuts a lot of people down.

I suspect that the actual route is left of the bolt line. If you want the 9+/10a version of this route, climb right of the bolt line for something reminiscent of the crux portion of Orange Oswald at Summersville lake. Aug 28, 2019

[Hide Comment] Echoing the other commenters' statement that staying along the bolt line keeps the route on grade. Going left makes it more manageable, but there are a lot of fun moves if you follow the route as it was likely intended. Jun 8, 2020

[Hide Comment] Felt really hard to me for a 5.8. Especially putting draws on the anchors.
Harder than Gypsies, Little Purple Flowers, ......
I likely strayed away from path of least resistance (mostly right of the bolt line). Chalk everywhere. May 11, 2024

[Hide Comment] Clipping bolts 3,4,5 and the anchor felt hard as I was following the bolt line. Not worth doing if you’re going to climb the 5.8 corner as a fall might swing you into the pillar next to the route. Aug 31, 2024
