Description
When it's in, this is classic. From below the pillars don't look too long, but looks are deceiving...PUMPY! The column is more than 10' from the rock.
Be warned that unless this is actually touching down, STAY OFF (and don't set up camp below it). Until well connected at the bottom, this has been known to simply drop off the wall, no warning, and no special conditions to warrant it.
Begin up a mellow slab to gain the ledge at the base of the column. Up the column to an overhanging finish up shale using turf placements and small trees for pro.
Parties have been known to setup day-long topropes for beginners on the slab below this column. Often, this is one of the only leadable columns in the amphitheater, so be courteous to those wanting to lead and share.
