Description

A solid climb, featuring a burly start down low, and a seemingly never ending crimpfest up higher. The climb starts at a small roof with a high handhold next to a crack, and pulls straight up the crack to the first bolt. Work your way up the arĂȘte, using sidepulls, crimpers, slopers and nasty foot smears.

Location

3rd bolted route to the right of the leaning blocks.

Protection

13 bolts?

[Hide Comment] I don't think that's the original start Micah. Jan 8, 2015

[Hide Comment] Starts ~4' to the right of where you described, just below and a little right of the 1st bolt. When that area is wet we use the more direct start you describe. May 7, 2015

[Hide Comment] Easier than The Sphinx if you start from the right side, so I'm voting 10b. And if you're looking for "crimpers" and "nasty foot smears", check out the crux of The Delicate Sound of Falling to the right! Sep 26, 2017

[Hide Comment] Did this route a week after comfortably onsighting The Sphinx and I can't imaging how folks felt this was easier/comparable. Challenging start precedes a pretty technical heady climb that kind of doesn't ease up much. Fun to practice some delicate footwork and arete technique. Aug 17, 2024
