Description

This is the obvious left facing corner just to the right of Short Stack. Follow the corner up to a set of belay rings or move left to the rings on Short Stack. When climbing the corner, it is best to step out to the right for the best holds. As with many of the routes in this area, some of the rock is not the best. There has been a large quantity of rock removed from the route to make it safe but there will still be some small pieces breaking loose. This should alleviate itself in time. However, caution and proper safety gear should always be used. This is a top-rope only route. It may also be possible to boulder this route in the near future.

Location

Far left, beside Short Stack. There is a topo in front of the wall to help with identification.

Protection

Ring anchors at the top.

[Hide Comment] Routes 1-3 look like great places for beginners to learn to climb TR. The 5.6 is an accurate rating, but they are, in my opinion, slightly sandbagged. For a new climber these routes will be frustrating due to the awkwardness of the climb. Slide down to route 11 which is "Porkchop" as the signs say. Took my wife last week. It was her first time to really climb. We started on route 2 and she was quickly frustrated. An old dude named Jeep came by and told us that "Porkchop", a taller 5.6, would be more enjoyable for her first climbing experience. Low and behold the old man was right. The moral of the story? New climbers should slide down to "Porkchop" for a more enjoyable climb. Feb 6, 2016
