Warning Access Issue: Post Hurricane Helene Accessibility of Crags DetailsDrop down

Description

The Tallest continuously vertical part of the cliff? Definitely an inspiring line to look at. The climbing is pretty fun too but rock quality is an issue. Great crux down low in the vertical drill groove for the first couple of bolts. This is followed by multiple moves and varying rock quality (bad-ok) on up to the final boulder problem off of a sloping ledge. This ends in a satisfying top out and the proudest perch at Rockyface.

Location

Left Side of the Main Face. Starts at a Vertical Drilled Groove that goes for 15'. Look for the tallest part of the cliff almost dead center of the entire man made cut.

Protection

Single set of TCUs and bring 10 Quickdraws. The bolts are old/rusty and the pro between is not inspiring. Ends at 1 rusty but huge bolt and Chain that should be backed up for top roping.

[Hide Comment] I'd love to see this get cleaned up.. I'd be willing to help with it. I got all the tools, but none of the approval. Apr 24, 2014

[Hide Comment] Actually this area was recently heavily cleaned and the mid section of the route is completely different. The route area is Closed due to some vulture nesting. It will be opened possibly in the future. Apr 24, 2014

[Hide Comment] Anyone know the current status of Hiddenite Delite? Is it currently open? Has it been rebolted? Also noticed rings for a climb right next to it - any idea what this is? Nov 29, 2015

[Hide Comment] I've since moved to Colorado so I don't know the current status on access at this part of the cliff. I was told by the ranger lady with brown hair and glasses (I used to know her name) that it was closed for vulture nesting. Please check with her or the current Rangers. Even if they don't allow more bolts to be added, that section was always a fun top rope so if it's open, go for it. Dec 14, 2015
