FA: Dan Shively, Robert Newsom, Trish Corto
California > Eastern Sierra > Bishop Area > Pine Creek Canyon > Mungie Wall > Mungie Right

Good hand crack, single long pitch, watch out for rope drag. Top left leaning lay back section just before belay anchors to the left. One rappel off the left side, make sure that your rope touches the ground, might have to swing up hill for landing.

Location

Left side of the Mungie Wall right, right of More Mungie Than Grungie.

Protection

Gear to 3", extra thin to 1", nuts are a good idea. Fixed anchors at the top.

[Hide Comment] A good, but not great climb. Sustained through the middle. A ~180ft pitch. Felt a little harder than 5.9. There are a few awkward spots in the flaring crack system, and a couple loose and dirty spots. Still worth doing, but more of an adventurous style. A single 60m just reaches the ground from the rappel off the left side. Bring extra pieces up to 1". A few offsets could be useful in the flares. Aug 29, 2016
[Hide Comment] This route is actually located on the Mungie Wall, an area which I just added to MP. It made sense to put this route in the Cyanide Gully before a separate page existed for Mungie, but now that Mungie is on MP could an admin or the original poster move this route to "Mungie Right"? Thanks! Jul 10, 2022

[Hide Comment] awesome engaging climb. get intimate with the flares. can now finish via easy horizontal traverse to bolted Mussy Hooks atop More Mungie Than Grungie. able to lower back to base using a 70 with about 5 ft to spare. gear to BD Red #1's if done that way, with same extras. didn't place any stoppers tho prob could have Oct 27, 2024
