The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Location

Situated on a lower block that terminates at a ledge halfway up the middle of Upper Walt's Rock. This route finishes at the start to Where Were You (5.10a). Easily set up as a TR.

Description

1995 Budget Closure follows a left-slanting dike with good protection. The route starts with a jump/mantle onto a large chickenhead knob. Take care pulling the crux after the 2nd? bolt - the crucial crimp hold is cracked all the way through and may not last forever.

4 bolts, 2 bolt rap anchor.

Crux hold is cracked good but is still there. Will probably reveal a better hold when it does finally break. Bolt right next to it if it does. Mar 15, 2020
