Description
A popular summertime attraction, Bear Creek Falls forms up in winter into a pretty decent, moderate ice flow with lots of options. The main falls form the centerpiece, and Burns' guidebook (1997:133-135) describes several options to the left, right, up, and down as well.
Location
The falls are obvious at the point where the road/trail intersects the creekbed at the huge boulder, ~2.5 miles from the trailhead. From that point, follow a boot pack along the west side of the stream to the base of the ice.
To descend, either rap off slung trees or walk off. (I walked off to the west, but maybe east is better, over toward Runnel No. 1?).
