Crackerjack

5.9+, Trad, 50 ft (15 m),  Avg: 1.8 from 4 votes
FA: DeLataillade, Pandorf
New Mexico > Jemez Mountains… > Capulin Canyon… > Cochiti Mesa > S Cliffband

Description

Crackerjack is the enticing crack in between Just Say No to Crack and Dinabolic. Begin with a section of fingers to a small pod (perfect opportunity for a .3 camalot). After that, it gradually widens, but the majority of the climb is in the green to red camalot range. Find a perfect blue camalot placement before the last, short section of offwidth at the top. Watch for lots of loose popcorn gravel as you top out.

Location

This is the quality looking crack to the right of Just Say No to Crack

Protection

Climb left at the top and clip the anchors for Just Say No to Crack, which has 2 cold-shuts and a third chained bolt. Be careful if you top-out on this one because of the loose rock at the top.

[Hide Comment] Needs some pebbles cleaned out due to the constant supply falling down the crack from above, but despite that is quite fun! Oct 29, 2014
