Yum Yum Tree

5.7+, Trad, 120 ft (36 m),  Avg: 3 from 65 votes
FA: Jack Chislet, Ken Brooks - 1984
Alabama > Jamestown > Harvest Wall

Description

Even if you're climbing at a higher level, Yum Yum Tree is a gas to lead. The rock quality is first-rate and the protection is good. Must-do!

From the trail, climb a somewhat thin face to a well-defined horizontal crack, which doubles as your first good pro opportunity and a good stance. Continue face climbing up to a nice easy corner, and move through an almost chimney-like feature near the top.

Location

Starts about 70' past the beginning of the Harvest Wall, about 20' right of Pigsty.

Protection

Mostly small to medium gear, though there are placements for some larger cams. Bolted anchors.

[Hide Comment] Great route! Fun gear, good moves, really long, and good view from the top. I started about 5-7 ft left of R Squared in his pics and went straight up to where he is. Is that the same route? Jul 22, 2009

[Hide Comment] I started about 7 or 8ft Right of the person in the pic, and went straight up through the crack to where he is. Nov 27, 2013
[Hide Comment] Yum Yum Tree starts about 10 feet right of where that climber started. It goes straight up to the crack pictured in the photo and continues straight up to the big left facing corner. The photo shows a climber who started up a route called Bulge Busters then traversed right to join Yum Yum Tree about halfway up. Jul 12, 2014
