Pitch 4 (don't skip) It is very easy to walk off a ledge to the left after the fun crack....

We replaced the nylon on 7/2/24: 10.2mm orange rope inside some 1" webbing for UV protection. Scaffold knots on links at each pin, stopper knot through chain links on the bolt, overhand on a bight to isolate and equalize. Big link and steel ring.

Pitch 2 as good as it looks. Plenty of fixed pins and easy placements for small to mid-sized cams.

Nearing the top of P2. The Screamer is due to lack of draws, not bad gear.

About half way up P2. Chuck is 3rd on the rope--it's not a runout about this.

Ivan clips the suspect pin before finding a nut placement to back it up before tacling the crux (getting over the bulge on the right skyline).

The start of the often skipped Pitch 4 of Rincon is a fun roof followed by good crack and very moderate slab climbing. Trouble is, that's only half of it. You have to cross about 100 feet of choss to get to the walk down. Better to rap. Now we know why everyone does it that way.

Luke Clarke moves toward the upper crux of P1 while P2 beckons in the sun. Look at that dihedral!

This is a photo Joseffa stopped to take of the gear in question on 'Rincon' the last time we did the route. Note the "bad" pin that is at chest level, and the bomber stopper placed above it. For reference, that blue sling is 1-foot long. The flake just left of the placement is a jug. You can both see and place the stopper when the pin is at your arm-pit.
