To gain the ridge, we climbed this buttress and then pushed through some shrubbery to get to the climbing proper. I'm sure there's an easier way to get onto the route from the Chimney, but we didn't find it.

Afterwards, the ranger at Chimney Pond said that the way to get onto the ridge is to traverse this grassy ledge and then head far to climber's left. We had started doing this but it seemed too unlikely.
