From the parking area, you can see the trail across the main wash. Go through the gate, take a right and drop into the wash or straight into the wash. Follow this wash out to and across the main wash bearing slightly left.

Kerr standing in the main wash in front of the Cockscomb trailhead. Go up the right side of the wash/canyon and the trail becomes obvious.
Most direct route to the Cockscomb trailhead in the main wash. Go through the gate, drop left or straight out to the wash. Follow it to the main wash and then directly across the main wash, slightly to the right.
