Patrick hacking grass on the approach with entourage in tow. It had been two years since last ascent, so the trail to the base was nonexistent. Luckily the 20-30 village kids following us up to the base trodded down all the tall grass, making the return hike much more enjoyable.

In honor of Rui's efforts establishing this route, Dan and I decided to build a mega cairn that is visible from the road and from fazenda rio iris. But just barely... It's a massive rock.
