A headless climber down climbing the summit block

This is the left side of the Black Bowl. We basically soloed this entire section all the way to the Sierra col. The reason for the rope in the photograph is I was too lazy to untie, so Bill and I simul-soled. I would say this is the steepest section that does NOT warrant a rope except for the last 20 feet to the Sierra col.

The "classic" traverse pitch. Ben is on route. There are additional pins/drives above him that lead off route.

He had two ropes on him. The thing on the right is some kind of wire that was strung up and down the couloir for hundreds of feet.<br>
