We chose to just follow the ridgeline down as opposed to the ledge descent. Parties that took the ledges ended up at the bottom in about the same time as us (and we're old and slow).

You pretty much follow a route that goes just left of the skyline in this photo.

Ledge

One third up the route.

Follow the edge up. Stay left.

I suspect many people encountered Ms. Tenaya (as we named her) or her friends on this route.

The "open bouldery area" referenced in Supertopo, marked by a big cairn, to drop down and out onto the frontside talus slope facing the lake, to connect to the frontside ledge traverse descent option. This spot is about 20-30 mins below the true summit, after passing the second and bigger rock formation along the way down the ridgeline. Aug 2015.
