The largest Sycamore Tree in the Grotto gave way in November 2022.
The badly charred remains of a Sycamore Tree in the Grotto. Fortunately, the upper branches of the tree rest against the cliff and help support the tree. Pretty spooky to sit under in high winds.
If you're going to do "personal maintenance" in the great outdoors the least you could do is to pick up after yourself and NOT leave it in the Grotto for someone else to deal with.
This grant Sycamore survived several fires in Carlisle Canyon, but yielded to a severe rainstorm in November 2022.
