Pine Creek, Zion. There was only John, and I, and a party of three with a permit for that day. We felt like we had it all to ourselves. There was intermittent swimming, wading, (water's pretty darn cold!), scrambling, and hiking involved, and I believe 9 raps total. Fun!<br>

I had so much fun wading in the water in the beautiful corridors. I'm glad I wore a full body wetsuit in these cold waters, and we were lucky we had the route all to ourselves! : )

Keyhole Canyoneering route in Zion (our second canyoneering route of the day). Shorter than Pine Creek but totally worth it; I thought the long, narrow swims, and rock formations were awesome, but the water was much colder than Pine Creek. <br>

To be honest, we didn't think the canyoneering route was as spectacular as people say, but perhaps we're just jaded these days after experiencng other canyons with a lot more beauty, and water features; we really would have liked more swimming on a route-<br>
<br>
FYI: On the last rap into the Narrows, you will be watched by many, many gawking tourists-it was kind of a strange, and awkward feeling after feeling like we had Mystery Canyon all to ourselves earlier on the route. We even had people ask if they could help us pull our ropes-EEEK!<br>

My poor pack that has seen better days, and I in Zion NP.<br>

We were able to score two permits for Mystery Canyon as a "walk-up" the day before- we had no luck reserving on-line as they were booked up; the nice ranger at the back-country office said we got the last two permits available for Mystery Canyon on the day we had planned to do it. Woohoo! <br>
<br>
We hiked the long way to Mystery Canyon, hiking up the Weeping Rock trail, just beyond Observation Point. The hike up to the Mystery Canyon wasn't as strenuous as I imagined it would be, and the views off this trail are awesome.<br>

I love Zion!<br>
