Lightweight Rock Shoe?

For a gear industry that is obsessed with shaving grams I’m surprised there’s not rock shoes marketed as an “alpine” shoe. Something ultra light (certainly sacrificing durability) for routes where most of the effort is the approach and you’re hauling rock shoes for miles and miles just to use them on two pitches.

I’m too scared and weak to climb 5.9 in my approach shoes. Help me.

Tulson Tolf advertises the Qubit as a lightweight climbing shoe. It comes in fuchsia so it must be light. 260g for the pair vs 494g for TC Pros…

I have no experience with them so no clue if they actually climb well…

The furia air is another example of a super light climbing shoe.

These shoes were marketed back in the 80's as lightweight.

They are 20 ounces per pair, compared with 24 ounces for my TC Pros, so they are relatively light weight.

One Sport Frenzy.  (good shoes.  These have been resoled several times.  Still use them occasionally.)

You must have small feet. My TCP's weigh 630 g/pair. My lightweights are OG Mocasyms at 450 g/pair. Sizes 40 and 7.5 respectively.

Both Scarpa’s Furia Air (150g; 5.3oz) and LaSpo’s Mantra (170 g / 5.9 oz) are marketed as super light.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
