Is that the first female 9b+?

If Janja acts fast, she could still become the first woman to climb 5.15c.

All she would need to do is go to Italy, send Excalibur, downgrade it, then immediately fly to Spain and send La Dura Dura within the next few weeks. Of course, Brooke would then have a few weeks to send and downgrade La Dura Dura to prolong the chess match.

BTW, has any woman sent V16 yet?

Arguably, box therapy is still V16, more people gave it 16 than 15.

Edit: Apparently dwoods adjusted his grade suggestion after the Raboutou downgrade so that makes it split 3-3 out of the 6 ascensionists.

Latest gossip on Janja is she's now close to doing Bibliographie and is prioritising that project instead.

Several people (including Ondra) have said the increasing temps on La Dura Dura may mean it never goes again.

Source? I've never heard about this. Not trying to challenge you just looking to read into it more myself.
This statement taken to it's extreme suggests increasing temps cause upgrades and would be a very controversial topic. Or maybe I'm jumping the gun....

Just saw on a UK climbing video that this is Brooke's first send in the French 9 grade range, so she completely skipped 14d-15b.  Absolutely bonkers!

I heard it on the Nugget interview with Ondra.

Has there even been any confirmation that La Dura Dura was not damaged by the fire a few years back? I assumed that was why there was never any more news about Janja trying it.

Unfortunately with 3 ascents claiming 15c, Janja's suggestion of 15b wouldn't even make it a slash grade. I think her best shot is if she grades it 5.11! Unless she can convince Shubert or some other crusher to downgrade Excalibur as well...

We'll see how she handles this.

At what temp does the glue holding up the crux melt at?

We all know that 1 vote for a downgrade is equal to 4 votes that confirm a grade

Anyways, congrats to Brooke, this is beyond the accomplishment. What a time to be alive to watch from afar as these lady crushers get at it.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
