Mountaineering boots for wide feet

I had some serious issues with the phantom techs bruising the outside bone on my feet this season. I could barely wear them for a climb by the end of the season. I replaced them with g summits but I don’t know how significantly better they will be (although they are better). Does anyone have any tips?

I have wide feet.

Scarpas generally fit wider than Sportiva, so if you have issues with Phantoms, you will likely not be better off with Sportiva boots.

Zamberlan boots tend to be high volume.  I've found them to be at least as wide/high-volume as Scarpa boots:

These fit my wide feet very well:

I also have wide feet, I can’t fit into la sportive nepals. I have a pair of Lowe alpine experts that fit very well, so I would recommend trying Lowe’s double boot options!

After trying on the summits they fit a fair bit better than the scarpas

Try searching there’s many threads on this with lots of info.

You can get newer mountaineering boots stretched in that area, although I found it has to be reapplied.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
