I just wrapped up a season of ice climbing with new ultra cheap ultra bright amazon rechargeable headlamps. kept them in my pack  and often on my helmet even when stuffed into the pack. Free soloed at night and other general use. they seemed to hold up just fine. Super bright and worked every time I asked them to.

So nice not needing batteries!!!! super affordable and light. .  get yours before the st00pid tariffs kick in...

I'm a big fan of my sofirn headtorch, USB-C, super cheap, big upgradable 18650 battery.

I think Chinese companies have really dominated the market for head torches, and it's not surprising, reliability comes from simplicity not from features and serious users value reliability over everything else.

they work. I held off on a review until the end of the ice season. comes in a two pack. I try to have two headlamps on me in the winter because I tend to run out of daylight more often and if one of them got turned on and drained in the pack or your partner forgot theirs its covered. Just ordered another two pack and I gave Isa a two pack for Christmas.

I just picked up a set of those Amazon headlamps based on your rec.  Definitely amazing for the price!  I didn’t think the hands-free mode would be as cool as it is, but it is.  At that price, they’re great for about anything.  Climbing, hiking, wrenching under the truck.  Whatever.  Thanks for the tip.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
