Couldn't find anything off-the-shelf of this size so had one custom made from etsy. Super happy with the results! Kept me warm in the shade all day. I've never racked a down jacket and never used belay gloves before - what welcomed learnings for comfort. Ha! I don't have the skills to MYOG but this was a super fun thing to have commissioned.

Had a pitch that was a stem/chimney, loved the confidence of having the xpac material. Never really noticed it while climbing. Will continue to use this in the warmer seasons to put some rack snacks or something or other.

Not affiliated at all, they just did a great job and wanted to share the concept and his work: etsy.com/shop/rogovbags

what is "this size"?

i started by measuring the stuff sack the jacket came with and then decided to make it slightly taller and skinnier so it would be less bulky

it measures at 4.5in diameter, 11in tall (with the generous domed top)

this size could fit a non-hooded size small and probbbbably a crammed medium mens down. something like a mountain hardwear ghost whisper or similar

Came here hoping this had to do with D-Generation X and was disappointed. Then saw your cool idea and was no longer disappointed. Very cool

What'd it cost you?

To get this custom piece made/designed/shipped it was $54 total

boy, if you could take that and add some little mini compression straps on the sides, a la the Slumberjack sleeping bag compression stuff sack, might be able to get it even more compacted

If you’ve ever sewn circles or cylinders you know $54 is a good price lol my ice screw pouch I made about did me in!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
