Hi, this might be a silly place to ask this. I used to be a big fan of Leukotape for most back country things. I don't know if they changed their formula but I'm having a lot more issues with the sticky side being the sticky side recently. Like when you peal it off sometimes the glue stays on the back and the glue side becomes glueless. Also the glue leaking through the back and so it ends up sticking stronger to my socks than it does to my foot. When I first used this product I don't remember having this issue and I thought the stuff was great.
Does anyone know of another tape out there that is similarly super strong and breathable and comfortable and doesn't come off when you sweat and is resistant to constant abrasion?

It does age and get worse over time.
In foot/sock contact the glue does go through.
If you are looking for blister prevention, I prefer BSN Fixomull Stretch. I cut out different size pads of it and pre-round the corners, carry it all in my trail running blister prevention kit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSxsylsyHLE BTW, this YT channel is a goldmine for blister prevention stuff, gets into really particular little nuances of application, etc...
If its a place of frequent friction, Engo Low Friction Patches are wonderful.

Yeah blister prevention is one of the main use cases but I use it for everything else also. Like instead of bandaids I bring bandaids and then over tape it with leukotape. and instead of climbing tape, if the tape won't stay where I want it, I use leukotape. And for quick field repairs, I use leukotape, it's stronger than duct tape. Basically all other medical or athletic tapes that I have tried do not last more than 30 minutes when I'm sweating and moving outside.

Its impossible to have a one size fits all solution to everything. Fixomull Stretch or Cover Roll Stretch would work for any of the medical related things. The adhesive is surprisingly good and it does handle getting wet very well. Standard climbing athletic tape, ie Eurotape, is good for crack gloves, but yes, the adhesive kinda sucks for many things. You could always just carry multiple options.
If you are dead set on Leukotape, you may just need to buy a new roll and/or keep it in the fridge? Or have pre-cut strips on wax paper you take with you so it isn't going to glue to itself. Or try Leukotape K, which has stretch, instead of the Leukotape P which you are most likely using.
Stronger than duct tape is great when you are trying to repair gear, but human skin has some stretch to it. A static material doesn't tend to work the best unless you specifically need it to be static. IE heel blisters with Leukotape P, no stretch, the material will bunch up, the bunched up areas are just creating more spots to irritate for blister formation. I have used Leukotape P and Fixomull Stretch / Cover Roll Stretch for pre-taping in known blister spots for Grand Canyon Rim2Rim and Rim2Rim2Rim, Leuko lead to the largest blister I have ever had. I'd choose the stretch over the leuko any day.

Have you tried Tenacious Tape? It’s strong, breathable, and reliable.

Are you on the same roll? Is it old? I have found that it doesn't age well. I bought 3 rolls and had them everywere so I would never forget it, but because of that, took me a while to get through it all.
When I ordered a replacement roll, it performed like memory, much better than my older rolls. I don't think the adhesive likes to age. Perhaps hydrophilic and absorbs it from the air making it more gummy?

My big toe angles laterally (early stages bunion) and, at night, I'm trying to relieve the pressure off my 2nd toe by running tape along the medial side of my toe, down the inside of my foot and around my heel. It works great for an hour or so then loosens and becomes ineffective. I've tried various things but tape is the only thing I can tolerate all night.
For my use case, I'm looking for the stickiest tape with the least amount of stretch possible. Leukotape P is either slightly stretching or slightly slipping.

@post above: Toe separators were all the rage a few months ago. Seems like It might be useful in this scenario.
